About Forever PvP Leaderboards
Forever PvP Leaderboards is the official duel ladder and PvP leaderboard site for World of Warcraft: Forever. A free addon records your 1v1 duels, battlegrounds, world PvP kills and Gurubashi Arena fights in-game, both players' addons confirm each duel, and this site publishes the rankings.
What it is
Every ranked duel between two players running the addon changes both players' rating. Ratings are kept separately per season and per level bracket, and the ladder can be filtered by faction (Horde or Alliance) and by class. The site also lists tournaments run through the addon, with full brackets and champions.
Brackets
- Ranked duels: exact level 19 and level 60 (the Beta season used 19 and 30).
- A duel is ranked only when both players are exactly the bracket level: 19 vs 19, or 60 vs 60. Other level pairings, including 30 vs 30 after the Beta season, don't change anyone's rating.
- Each bracket has its own rating, rank and record. One character can appear in both. Past seasons keep the brackets they were played in, so the Beta season's ladder still shows level 19 and level 30.
How rating works
- Everyone starts at 1500.
- Ratings use the Elo system. Beating a higher-rated opponent earns more than beating a lower-rated one; losing to a lower-rated opponent costs more.
- From Season 1 on: every game uses a K-factor of 24, and ratings are shown on a wider scale, like the arena ratings of The Burning Crusade: 1500 + 2 × (Elo − 1500), so a win between equal players shows as +24.
- The Beta season uses a K-factor of 24, shown as it is. Until October 17, 2026 the first 10 games used 40; games from then on don't. Past seasons keep their own rules.
- To discourage farming, beating the same player again and again counts less. What counts is the winner's net wins over that opponent (their wins less their losses to them): within any 24 hours the first 6 count fully, the next 6 half and the rest a quarter; within any 7 days, half from the 31st, a quarter from the 61st and nothing from the 101st (the lower of the two applies). Losing four and then winning gives a full win, and a back-and-forth session counts in full. Before October 17, 2026 the Beta season counted every game: ×1, ×1, ×0.5, ×0.25 then 0 within 24 hours, and half from the 11th game of the season against one opponent, a quarter from the 21st and nothing from the 31st.
- You need 5 games in a bracket before you get a tier and a rank. Until then you are shown as Placement.
Titles (from Season 1)
Titles go by percentile among the ranked players of a realm and bracket, like the arena titles of The Burning Crusade. With fewer than 10 ranked players there are no titles yet. Players tied at a cutoff get the higher title. The ladder shows the current cutoffs.
| Title | Ranked players |
|---|---|
| Gladiator | top 0.5% |
| Duelist | top 3% |
| Rival | top 10% |
| Challenger | top 35% |
| Combatant | everyone else out of placement |
| Placement | fewer than 5 games |
Tiers (Beta season)
| Tier | Rating |
|---|---|
| Grand Champion | 2000+ |
| Blademaster | 1850–1999 |
| Duelist | 1700–1849 |
| Challenger | 1550–1699 |
| Contender | 1400–1549 |
| Initiate | below 1400 |
| Placement | fewer than 5 games |
Verification
When a duel ends, both players' addons report what they saw, and matching reports confirm the duel. The official ladder is then rebuilt from data collected in-game by admin collectors, not from numbers players submit themselves.
- Verified An unbroken chain of confirmed duels from the season start.
- Partial Some earlier duels are missing from the collected data, so only the confirmed duels count: the rating is worked out again from 1500 over them.
- Conflict The two addons reported different results for at least one duel.
A warning next to a name means the ladder noticed an unusual pattern, such as very few distinct opponents, many games against one opponent, or an unusually fast climb. It is a heads-up, not an accusation. Banned players stay listed but are not ranked.
Unverified players (*)
Players who don't run the addon still show up on the leaderboards, from what addon users see:
- Duels seen in chat. When a duel ends, everyone nearby sees “X has defeated Y in a duel”. Addon users report these, and the ladder rates them with the same Elo rules. Reports of the same duel from several witnesses count once; if the witnesses disagree on the winner, the majority decides. A duel is only rated when both players' levels are known and are the same ranked bracket. Addon users' own ratings are never changed by these duels: theirs come from their own addon. One witness can only report so many duels a day.
- Battleground scoreboards. After a battleground, one addon user in the match shares the full scoreboard, both teams. Everyone on it who doesn't run the addon gets their wins, killing blows, honor and objectives from those scoreboards. Addon users keep their own numbers.
- Inspecting. The addon quietly inspects players nearby (out of combat, never while you're inspecting someone yourself) and shares the lifetime honorable kills and PvP rank the game shows, for the honor board. When several players inspected someone, the middle reading counts, so one player can't set the numbers alone.
- Lifetime statistics. The same way the game's "Compare Achievements" works, the addon quietly reads the Statistics of players nearby (out of combat, never while your Achievements window is open): lifetime duels won and lost, battlegrounds played and won, flags and towers. Players with the addon send their own. These are the lifetime boards; they count everything the character ever did, so they don't affect ratings.
These players are ranked in the same lists as everyone else, so their place counts for everyone's rank number, but their rank carries an asterisk, for example 12*: the numbers weren't confirmed by their own addon, and anyone running the addon could report them wrongly. A duel record that is only Partial (earlier duels missing) is ranked the same way, with an asterisk. Records with a Conflict are not ranked.
The leaderboards have a Show unverified switch. Hiding unverified players doesn't renumber the list: a gap in the rank numbers is where an unverified player sits. Install the addon to get verified.
How ratings are protected
- Both sides confirm. A duel between two addon users counts when both addons reported the same result and numbers. Every player's duels must form an unbroken chain: each game's rating has to follow from the one before.
- Every game can be shown. Each addon keeps all of its ranked duels for the season and sends them to other addons that ask, so any record can be followed duel by duel. A record claimed without the duels to show for it doesn't rank, in game or here.
- Duels against players without the addon count for the addon user (“one-sided”), and every such duel carries an asterisk in their history (*): witness-confirmed when another addon user saw it announced, else self-reported. The opponent's rating counts as it is. A duel seen in chat only counts for the player without the addon when the addon user reported that duel themselves.
- Per-opponent limits. Beating the same player again and again counts less (by the winner's net wins over them in 24 hours and in 7 days, see above). The ladder works these out again from the duels' own times and uses the lower number when an addon claimed more (flagged).
- 5 different opponents are needed for a rank, besides 5 games.
- Rank order. Ranked players are ordered by their rating, counted a little lower while it rests on only a few games or the same few opponents, and again after a week without a ranked duel. More games against different players close the gap; shown ratings never change.
- Activity. Only players with a ranked duel in the last 21 days (of the season, for a past season) are ranked. Others stay listed as Inactive.
- Plausibility. When games are missing from a record, the rating can't have moved more than those games allow; otherwise the record is a Conflict. A partly confirmed record is ranked only when at least half of its games, or all but 5, are confirmed.
- Review flags. Players who got much of their rating from one opponent, or who won mostly against brand-new players who lost mostly to them, are listed Under review and not ranked until a maintainer has looked.
- Retuned from Season 1: a flat K-factor of 24, the wider rating scale and titles by percentile (see How rating works). The Beta season keeps its own rules.
Shared ranks
Players with exactly the same value share a rank, and the next rank is skipped: two players tied for first are both 1 and the next player is 3. On the leaderboards a shared rank is marked with = (for example =4).
World PvP
- The addon counts your honorable kills and PvP deaths out in the world and reports them, together with honor, kill streaks and zones.
- A kill is verified when a kill heard from one faction matches the victim's own death report from the other faction within 30 seconds. Self-reported totals can't be checked this way; verified kills can, so the World PvP board ranks by verified kills first.
- K/D is honorable kills per death. A player who hasn't died counts as one death, so a clean record still gets a K/D.
- Repeat kills: killing the same player over and over gives less and less honor in the game, but the kill message still shows. So at most 4 kills of the same player in 24 hours count toward honorable kills and verified kills; the rest are still listed in the addon.
- Heat map: in game, open the world map and click PvP heat to see where your faction has been fighting. Fights in the last 5 minutes pulse; hovering a zone on a continent map shows its kills and deaths and how much of the fighting there your faction wins; clicking a hotspot shows who holds it, who has been killing your faction there and its busiest hours. A colorblind-friendly palette is in the same menu.
Achievements
The addon's achievements have their own Forever PvP tab in the game's Achievements window (/fpl achievements): dueling, the ladder, battlegrounds, world PvP and tournaments, with points, progress and weekly challenges. Other addon users see yours on your profile. /fpl recap shows your season on one card for screenshots.
Gurubashi Arena
- The arena in Stranglethorn is free-for-all: anyone can fight anyone, whatever their faction.
- A takedown is a player you were fighting when they fell. Dying ends your current streak.
- Chests count Arena Master wins: looting the chest when it drops.
Battlegrounds
- When a battleground ends, the addon reads the end-of-match scoreboard: result, killing blows, honorable kills, deaths, honor and objectives such as flag captures and bases assaulted.
- A game is confirmed when another player in the same match reported it too: same battleground, same end time, matching result.
- MVP goes to the player with the most killing blows on the whole scoreboard of the match.
- Leaving a battleground early isn't counted as a loss. It also doesn't count toward any minimum below.
- Per-game averages only count games where the scoreboard numbers could be read.
Board minimums
Rates and averages need enough games before they mean anything, so some boards only list players past a minimum:
- Battleground win % and K/D: 10 finished games (wins, losses and draws).
- Per-battleground win % and per-game boards: 5 finished games on that battleground.
- World PvP K/D: 10 honorable kills, counting at most 4 kills of the same player in 24 hours.
- Gurubashi Arena K/D: 10 takedowns and deaths together.
Seasons
Seasons follow WoW: Forever's PvP seasons (the honor rank seasons). Everything before launch on November 4, 2026 (00:00 UTC) is the Beta season; Season 1 starts at launch, and each later season starts on the date Forever's PvP season does. Exact dates are announced as they're known, and a season keeps running until the next one starts. Each season starts everyone fresh at 1500; past seasons stay viewable from the season menu on the ladder.
